Things are becoming tense between Ruby Rose and Katy Perry.
Rose took to Threads to share that she was allegedly sexually assaulted by the “Wide Awake” singer while at a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia.
The series started after a post of Perry reacting to Justin Bieber’s headlining set at Coachella. Rose would reply but sharing her experience with Perry.
“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s**t what she thinks,” Rose wrote.
In the following posts, she began to detail the alleged encounter and thanked her fans for supporting her.
“Before I open up about something incredibly raw and traumatic, I tell myself ‘it’s ok, you don’t need people to believe you, you just need to get it out of your poor body, before it gives you cancer,” she wrote to a supporting fan. “But then I see this post and tears consume me, in a good way. Thank you.”
She went on to say the incident took place when she was in her twenties. “I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” she wrote. “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”
Rose added that it was hard for her to report woman-on- woman violence. “She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted on her,” she wrote in another reply.
A spokesperson for Katy Perry responded to Rose’s claims calling them dangerously false. “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies.”
The spokesperson added, “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
