The cause of death of Tay Keith has been revealed.
According to reports, the hip-hop producer died of a drug overdose. The Nashville Medical Examiner’s Office reported that he had a mix of ketamine and mitragynine in his system when he died.
Mitragynine is a chemical compound found in kratom –a tree from Southeast Asia. It affects the brain’s opioid receptors. Keith also had ethanol and nicotine in his system. The Medical examiner noted that he suffered from mild coronary artery disease as well.
Tay Keith was found dead by the police during a welfare check in his Nashville apartment in June. No foul play was suspected; however, he was found around drug paraphernalia.
