Tim Curry Passes Away At 80

Tim Curry has passed away at 80.

Curry, who was best known for his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” passed away in his Los Angeles home on Tuesday night.

The beloved actor had been dealing with serious health issues for nearly a decade. In 2012, he suffered a stroke that required brain surgery. He was also left unable to walk.

Curry began his acting career in the 1960s before getting his big break in the 1975 Rocky Horror film. During a 2005 interview, Curry talked about his breakout role. “It’s a chance for people to try on a few roles for size, maybe help them figure out their own sexuality.”

He continued, “I’ve certainly had some very interesting and moving mail from people who’ve said, ‘Thanks for helping me figure out who I was,’ and that’s very nice.”

After Rocky Horror, Curry went on to star in Annie (1982) and as Pennywise in the 1990 horror film It. Throughout his career, Tim Curry was nominated for three Best Actor Tony Awards and has won multiple Daytime Emmys and a Grammy.

There has been no cause of death yet. We will keep Tim Curry’s family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
