Ray J gives fans a health update after his near-fatal hospital stay earlier this month.
The “One Wish” singer went on Instagram and revealed that his heart is beating at 25% due to his excessive drug and alcohol use. “My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be all right,” he said. Ray went on to thank his fans for all of their prayers.
At the beginning of the month, Ray J was hospitalized with pneumonia and chest pains. According to reports, the singer had X-rays and an echocardiogram done.
This hospitalization comes four years after he suffered from a severe case of non-COVID pneumonia. He was placed on oxygen and given an inhaler. During his first hospital stay he revealed that he was going to die.
“I thought it was over,” Ray J said during that time. “I started praying and knew God is good, so I just kept praying.”
