B2K & Bow Wow’s ‘Boyz 4 Life Tour’ Shuts Down Brooklyn’s Barclays Center

What happens when you have Millennials and nostalgia under the same roof? You get the “Boyz 4 Life Tour!”

B2K, Bow Wow, B5, Pretty Ricky, Yung Joc, Dem Franchize Boys, Waka Flocka, Crime Mob, and Amerie made their way to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and set it on fire. Each performer took today’s “uncs’ and “aunties” down memory lane with their multitude of hits.

The lovely Amerie opened the show to set the tone for the rest of the night. She performed her hits, including “One Thing,” “Paradise,” and “Why Don’t We Fall In Love.”

Following the aforementioned artists with a couple of surprises. Yung Joc brought out Bianca Bonnie, formerly known as Young B, to perform her hit single “Chicken Noodle Soup.” Crime Mob surprised the crowd with Lil Scrappy, Pleasure P did it one time for the City Girls when he had JT perform with him, and Bow Wow brought out Jermaine Dupri and Brooklyn’s own Lil Mama. He jokingly cleared up the rumors that they are the same person.

The vibe in Barclays Center was taken to higher levels. Waka Flocka Flame got the audience ready for what was next. Shortly after Flocka’s performance, Pretty Ricky took center stage and had everyone feeling like teenagers all over again.

Singing their hits off their debut album Bluestars, which is celebrating 20 years, Baby Blue, Pleasure P, and Spectacular showed the audience that they haven’t missed a step. Things got a little heated when one lucky audience member received a special lap dance from Spectacular.

Then the moment everyone was waiting for finally arrived. Co-headliner Bow Wow hit the stage and took the crowd on a musical journey. Performing his hits such as “What’s My Name?,” “Basketball,” “Outta My System,” “Ghetto Girls,” “Fresh Az Im Iz,” “Shortie Like Mine,” and more.

From one co-headliner to the next, B2K appeared to a crowd so loud it took you back to their “Scream Tour” days. Aside from performing their hits together, each member had a chance to do solo performances, showcasing their individual talents.

Raz-B sang his verse from the group’s single “Everything” off their Pandemonium album and paid homage to the late Michael Jackson. J-Boog did it one time for Lil Saint, and did his dance routine from the 2004 classic You Got Served, letting the crowd know not to be fooled by his “dad bod.” Lil Fizz rapped while giving flowers to his fans and to those who’ve helped him along the way. Omarion sang the songs the fans love to hear, including “O,” “Ice Box,” “Touch,” and “Let Me Hold You,” with Bow Wow.

Many fans were shocked to hear B2K perform the remix to their hit single, “Girlfriend.” Andre Robinson was there with his sisters and one of the shocked fans to hear the remix.

“I haven’t heard them perform that song since their performance at the 2003 BET Awards,” Robinson said. “The real B2K fans remember that performance, so to witness it in person was something unexplainable.”

If you haven’t been to this concert yet, they will be at Prudential Center on April 5. Will you be attending the “Boyz 4 Life Tour”? brought to you by the Black Promoters Collective.
