Andy Dick reportedly suffered an apparent drug overdose in Hollywood, prompting witnesses to step in and save his life.
Reports say that the comedian was seen “slumped over on cement stairs outside of a building in Hollywood in broad daylight.” Witnesses say that his friends acted quickly to save his life. One of them was screaming for Andy to wake up, while others called an ambulance.
It’s also been reported that a bystander yelled for someone to get Narcan, a medication used to reverse the effects of opioid overdoses, and administered it to Dick.
Shortly after, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene, where the 59-year-old man was. However, he was not taken to the hospital. Usually, after Narcan is administered, the person regains consciousness and returns to their normal activities.
Dick has been dealing with substance abuse for years and has had his fair share of issues with the law. Since the incident, he shared that he’s relieved to be alive, but declined to give details about what happened.
