One of the five murder suspects in the case of rapper Julio Foolio has been convicted of manslaughter.
According to reports, the late rapper’s girlfriend, Alicia Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter after an eight-day trial. However, she was found not guilty on conspiracy to commit murder.
Jury deliberation began at 6:50 p.m. and came to a verdict at 10:20 p.m. Andrews was accused of sending the rapper to multiple locations on the day of his murder with her codefendants before he was killed by them.
During the trial, she tried to use evidence of domestic violence against her by her boyfriend and co-defendant Isiah Chance, but the judge ruled against it. The other defendants, Chance, Davion Murphy, Rashad Murphy, and Sean Gathright, are set to go on trial next spring.
Julio Foolio was killed on his 26th birthday while celebrating at an Airbnb. In 2021, he rose to fame over his public feud with fellow rapper Yungeen Ace.
Authorities say that Foolio’s murder was tied to a war between gangs. They say that Foolio was allegedly a part of 6 Block and was fighting against two allied gangs, 1200 and Ace’s Top Killers (ATK).
All of the defendants, minus Andrews, are allegedly a part of those gangs. Alicia Andrews’ sentencing will take place on December 8 at 8:30 a.m.
May Julio Foolio continue to rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this time.
