  • Quinta Brunson To Portray Betty Boop In Upcoming Film

Quinta Brunson To Portray Betty Boop In Upcoming Film

Quinta Brunson is set to play the iconic Betty Boop in an upcoming movie.

According to reports, Brunson is also developing the film adaptation of the cartoon icon. The movie will focus on Boop’s origin and evolution from the perspective of the creator, Max Fleischer.

It is set to take a deep dive into the pressures that Fleischer faced while creating one of the world’s first cartoon icons. The movie will also show what happens when the cartoon begins to take a life of its own.

This movie will be Betty Boop’s first starring role since the 1930s. The movie will be produced through Brunson’s company, Fifth Chance Productions, and will be partnering with Mark Fleischer of Fleischer Studios.

“Betty Boop is one of our nation’s most beloved cartoon characters, yet somehow still remains pleasantly niche. She has had a quiet but undeniable impact on culture for nearly a century,” Brunson said. “After Erin and I met with Mark and learned more about his grandfather’s creation of Betty, I realized there was a much deeper story to tell. One that could be explored in a way that feels refreshing, subversive, and timeless, much like Betty herself.”

Erin Wehernberg is overseeing the film’s production for Fifth Chance Productions. Fleischer opens up about the time Brunson approached him with the idea for the film.

“Quinta so embodies Betty’s love of life, intelligence, humor, sassiness, and compassion that the relationship between her as Betty and Max burst into life at its mere mention,” Fleischer said.

Kim Kardashian Responds To SKIMS Cocaine Truck Bust

Kim Kardashian breaks her silence after a truck carrying SKIMS products was busted for trafficking $9.5 million worth of cocaine.

The case gained international attention after the driver was sentenced to 13 years in prison in the UK. Last September, the driver, Jakub Jan Konkel, was stopped by Border Force officers at the Port of Harwich in Essex after arriving in the Netherlands via a ferry.

According to reports, officials stated that the truck was carrying 28 pallets of “authentic SKIMS underwear and apparel. Investigators would later discover the 90 one-kilogram packages of cocaine, which were hidden in the trailer doors.

Authorities estimated that the drugs were worth £7.2 million or $9.5 million. Konkel later revealed that he agreed to transport the drugs for £4,500 although he denied knowing that the drugs were hidden in the truck.

In a statement, a SKIMS representative stated that the company was not involved in the operation. “SKIMS is aware of the recent news involving a shipment with our products. We want to be absolutely clear: SKIMS had no knowledge whatsoever about this criminal activity. We had no connection to the smuggling operation, the driver, or the truck.”

The National Crime Agency believes that the drugs were loaded onto the truck during the “undeclared 16-minute stop,” which was recorded on the truck’s tachograph data.
