T.K. Carter has passed away. He was 69 years old.
The actor was reportedly found dead in his home in Duarte, California, on Friday after he called 911 at 5:42 pm. A cause of death has not been determined, but no foul play is expected.
T.K. Carter was born Thomas Kent Carter on December 18, 1956, in New York City. At age 12, he began his stand-up comedy career, where he would perform at notable venues.
He is best known for his roles in John Carpenter’s The Thing as the roller skating chef Nauls and as Mike Fulton in the first two seasons of Punky Brewster.
Carter has also appeared in shows such as The Waltons, Good Times, The Jeffersons, 227, Moesha, The Steve Harvey Show, Family Matters, and more.
He was in the 1996 classic Space Jam and 1999’s My Favorite Martian. We will keep Carter’s family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
