    Kiki Shepard, Longtime Co-Host of ‘Showtime At The Apollo’ Dies at 74

    Kiki Shepard has died at 74 years old.

    According to reports, the longtime co-host of the legendary show, “Showtime at the Apollo,” passed away from a massive heart attack in Los Angeles. Reports also noted that her passing was “completely unexpected.”

    Many remember Shepard for her run as a co-host on “Showtime at the Apollo” from 1987 to 2002 with Steve Harvey. She would help introduce aspiring artists as well as get feedback from the audience on who was the best act of the night.

    After her time on the legendary music talent show, Shepard continued to work in television and appeared on various shows, including “Baywatch,” “A Different World,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and more.

    She also appeared on Broadway in productions such as “Porgy and Bess,” “Your Arms Too Short to Box With God,” “Reggae,” and “Bubbling Brown Sugar.” Before landing her gig on Apollo, Kiki Shepard was a professional dancer in the 1970s and performed around the world with the D.C. Repertory Dance Company.

    Queens Artist Poiison Closes Out 2025 With A Hometown Giveback

    Poiison, an artist and songwriter from Queens, NY, brought the holiday spirit to her hometown at the end of 2025.

    The Queens’ native hosted the “My Heart, My Homie- A Holiday Giveback,” an event that took place at her former middle school, Elizabeth Blackwell M.S. 210Q. The event was put together in partnership with Adidas, Queens Community House, and The Doux to support students and their families.

    The event provided the children with free haircuts, haircare, and skincare products, Adidas gear, and other essentials. This event was a full-circle moment for Poiison as it focused on giving back and uplifting the youth.

    During the giveback, the kids were surprised with an appearance from fellow Queens native and rapper Bay Swag. Swag recently was a part of another holiday celebration with Cash Cobain and the Children of Promise NYC Foundation.

    Throughout her career and journey, Poiison has made it a priority to giveback to the community that raised her. While sitting in one of the classrooms of her old middle school, she shared a piece of advice she would give her younger self.
