    Jay-Z ‘s ‘The BluePrint’ To Be Added To The Library Of Congress

    In 2001, Jay-Z release the classic album The BluePrint, and 18 years later the album will now be entered into the Library of Congress.

    The announcement was made on Wednesday March 20th that the Library has picked 25 recordings to be entered into its Registry. The Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden explained why those 25 songs were chosen this year.

    “The National Recording Registry honors the music that enriched our souls, the voices that tell our stories, and the sounds that mirror our lives.”The other audio clips that were chosen include songs by Earth, Wind & Fire, music from the Super Fly movie and the announcement of Dr. King’s death given by Robert F. Kennedy. Congrats Jay!

    That’s Dope: Jay-Z and Beyonce to be Honored at the GLAAD Media Awards

    This is huge! Jay-Z and Beyonce were named the next recipients of the Vanguard Award at this year’s GLAAD Media Awards. The award is given to those who have accepted and has made a difference for LGBTQ people. Jay-Z and Beyonce will join previous winners of this award including Kerry Washington, Britney Spears, Cher, Janet Jackson, Patricia Arquette, Charlize Theron, and Jennifer Aniston. In a statement made by GLAAD’s president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, she said “they’re global icons and passionate defenders of human rights and acceptance for all people”. The awards will be handed out on two different dates; March 28th in Los Angeles and May 4th in New York.

    Leaving Neverland: A Documentary About Michael Jackson’s Sexual Abuse Set to Premiere at Sundance

    In light of the recently released docuseries Survivng R. Kelly, a series that documented the singers sexual assault, abuse and relations with both minors and older women, a new documentary is in the works and this time it’s about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.Leaving Neverland, a four-part documentary that will tell the story of two men,now in their 30s, who allegedly had a full relationship with Jackson, when they were 7 and 10 years old. The film will be shown on two consecutive nights and it was approved by British broadcaster channel 4.Jackson’s family and estate have already denied and denounced these allegations about Jackson, claiming that this is another plot to extort money from him. Back in 2005, Jackson was acquitted of child molestation charges.The documentary is supposed to premiere at the Sundance movie festival later this year.There is no official release date on when the documentary will air.
