For the past 12 years, the Apollo Theater has been hosting a night of awesomeness with their Spring Gala Annual Benefit concerts and this year will be nothing short of amazing. The Apollo Theater’s Spring Gala 2017 will take place on June 12th, 2017, it is already star-studded. Cedric the Entertainer will be the host of the night and it has been announced that Sheila E. and Cee Lo Green will be performing.Not only will there be legendary performances, there will also be two awards given out during the event. The first award, the Trailblazer Award, will go to director/ producer Stan Lathan due to his achievements in performance arts. Lathan is the mastermind behind television classics such as The Bernie Mac Show, Sanford and Son, Def Comedy Jam, and more. Chance the Rapper is Looking for an Intern!
Chance the Rapper is keeping his word on helping fix the problem within the inner-city neighborhoods of Chicago. The Chicago native has promised to donate $1 million to the city’s public school system, he’s started a campaign back in 2014 via social media to help combat the violence in Chicago, he’s put together bi-monthly Open Mike Nights, where teens are free with valid id and more. The list of accolades for Chance the Rapper is ongoing, with one more added to it. Chance is now looking for an intern to work for him. The Grammy award winner took to Twitter to drop the big news.
