Chuck Berry, the original King of Rock and Roll, has paved the way for many Rock and Roll Hall of famers during his career. Now at the age of 90, the Rock and Roll Hall of famer himself, has announced that he will be releasing his first album in 38 years in 2017 this past Tuesday on his birthday. The album, Chuck, will be compiled of all new songs. For Berry, this album is a special one.Not only will it have all new songs, it features his son Charles Berry Jr playing guitar and daughter Ingrid Berry playing the harmonica and musicians who have played with him Fourth years. This album is also a dedication to his wife of 68 years, Toddy (as he calls her). As stated on his website, Berry speaks on why he decided to release this album in 2017, “My darling, I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes”. During the span of his career, Berry has been the epitome of ending racial segregation with his music in the Rock and Roll world, has left a mark in the industry that many have been influenced by over the years.
