Lil Mama finally gives fans what they’ve been asking for more than 15 years: a lip gloss line.
Since her debut single, “Lip Gloss,” was released and landed in the No. 10 spot on the Billboard 100, fans wondered if she would ever have her own line.
Lil Mama, whose real name is Niatia Kirkland, has partnered with Vaniteaset Cosmetics to release her “It’s Poppin’” Collection. The line was inspired by her 2008 debut album, Voice of the Young People.
On Vaniteaset Cosmetics’ social media platform, Kirkland said the launch has been “in motion” for some time. “Things are never late, just in motion,” the caption read. “Just because we’re quiet doesn’t mean we’re not working.”

The line includes four lip glosses, which are named after songs or themes from her album. According to reports, the lip glosses are: Truly in Love, Strike a Pose, The Voice, and College Girl.
The rapper spoke about the process of putting together the line and revealed that her family had a hand in it. The new collection falls under the aforementioned Vaniteaset Cosmetics, which is owned by her younger sister, Jasmyn. She said that working with family members can have its complexities, but it works if everyone has the same goal in mind.
