Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been suspended for one game without pay after he spat at Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
The incident occurred during the first six seconds of last Thursday’s Eagles vs Cowboys game. Carter was disqualified from the game and has served his suspension in Week 1 in which he forfeited his game check.
The NFL revealed that Carter will not contest the disciplinary action against him and he has waived his right to appeal. He will be able to play in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The NFL called Carter’s actions “unsportsmanlike” and said that they will focus on promoting sportsmanship throughout the season for all of the teams, players, and staff.
After the incident took place, it was revealed that Prescott spit at Carter’s feet first, which caused him to retaliate with the same action. See the clip below.
