John Cena to be awarded a high honor. Cena was named Sports Illustrated 2018 Muhammad Ali Legacy Award Recipient for his leadership and philanthropy. The 16 time WWE champion has been more active out of the ring by working closely with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where he has granted 600 wishes, the most of any WWE superstar.The philanthropy doesn’t stop there. Cena is also an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness and early detection. Cena took to his Twitter account to express how he felt about this honor.https://twitter.com/JohnCena/status/1068279663389224965As reported in Sports Illustrated, the company’s Executive Editor, Stephen Cannella, explained why they chose Cena to be this year’s recipient.”From his unparalleled work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to his support for a wide range of causes ranging from activism for military families to cancer research, John has made personal outreach and generosity of time and spirit his calling cards.” He continued, “He might just be the most charitable person in sports, and his dedication to philanthropy richly reflects the spirit of the Ali Legacy Award.”This legacy award was created in 2008 but was named after Ali in 2015 after being recognized for his own work as a civil rights activist as well as a legendary boxer. John Cena joins the list of those who received this award in previous years such as Colin Kaepernick, Bill Russell, Ervin ‘Magic’ Johnson, and many others.The ceremony for this award will take place on December 11th at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles.

Roman Reigns Relinquishes Universal Championship to Battle Leukemia
On last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw kicked off with WWE’s Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. Of course, the crowd greeted him with their series of cheers and boos but Reigns was there for another reason. Reigns, whose real name is Leati Joseph Anoa’i, revealed to the world that he has been battling leukemia for 11 years and that it has come back.”When I was 22 years old, I was diagnosed with this. And very quickly I was able to put it in remission. But I’m not going to lie, that was the hardest time in my life. I didn’t have a job, I have any money, I didn’t have a home and I had a baby on the way. And football was done with me,” Reigns said in an emotional speech to the WWE Universe in Rhode Island.Reigns also stated that he is not looking for sympathy by any means but is accepting prayers. He is determined to beat leukemia once again and return to the place he calls home, the WWE ring. With “Thank You Roman” chants filling the arena, Reigns left the belt in the middle of the ring and exited.He was met at the top of the ramp by his Shield Brothers, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, who were visibly saddened over the news. They embraced each other and did their iconic Shield sign before leaving.

WWE Fans are Asking for ‘Crown Jewel’ to be Cancelled
On November 2nd, WWE is set to have its pay-per-view event ‘Crown Jewel’,take place in Saudi Arabia. However, many fans are giving pushback to WWE asking them to reconsider.Saudi Arabia has been under fire after the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who is suspected to have been murdered by Saudi officials.According to Buzzfeed, Khashoggi,who was living in the US last year, was very vocal about the Saudi government. The day he went missing, it was reported that he went to the Saudi Consulate located in Instanbul and never returned home.With this news rapidly increasing, and on the heels of ‘Crown Jewel’, many WWE fans have not only reached out to the multi-billion dollar company but also to the superstars asking that they pull out of the show by using #CancelCrownJewel on Twitter.


Many of the other sponsors for this event has pulled out of the show due to this major controversy.’Crown Jewel’, is the second WWE event to be held in Saudi Arabia.The first one was ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’.
