Michael Rapaport Plans To Run For NYC Mayor in 2029

Michael Rapaport has his sights set on a new career path.

The actor and podcast host revealed he will be running for New York City Mayor in 2029. Rapaport, a longtime NYC resident, said his decision came after the response the new mayor, Zohran Mamdani, received.

He made the announcement at the end of his recent podcast episode of I Am Rapaport: Stereo Podcast. During the announcement, he expressed his frustrations with the city’s leadership and the current political climate.

Michael Rapaport has never held public office and did not reveal his political party affiliation. However, his remarks were mostly centered around Mamdani.

“Let me tell you something, guys, girls, women, children of all ages,” he said. “2025 was crazy, and I don’t see it getting any calmer or cooler in 2026, the way things started. That’s why I’m running for mayor.”

Just before the episode aired, he released a teaser of the news on social media, calling it a “Special Announcement.” Rapaport later confirmed the news with a more in depth post on his Instagram.

In the caption, he talked about his New York roots and said that he was different than the current administration.

“I, Michael Rapaport, am running for Mayor of New York City — 2029,” he wrote. “Born. Raised. NYC. Nothing’s free. No bulls**t. No fake grins. I’ll own my mistakes, apologize when I screw up, and fight to make this city safe, affordable, and thriving.”

Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as NYC Mayor earlier this month. His campaign garnered national attention because of his progressive views and proposals on rent freezes, city-run grocery stores, and free buses.

Throughout Mamdani’s campaign, Rapaport has been heavily critical of it, calling him a “stain at the helm” while questioning his intentions.

Mick Foley Announces Departure From WWE

Mick Foley officially announces his departure from WWE.

The WWE Hall of Famer and legend took to social media to say that he could no longer stand a company that supports Donald Trump. “While I have been concerned about WWE’s close relationship with Donald Trump for several months- especially in light of his administration’s ongoing cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants (and pretty much anyone who “looks like an immigrant”) – reading the President’s incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reiner’s death is the final straw for me,” Foley wrote.

The statement continued, “I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy. Last night, I informed WWE talent relations that I would not be making any appearances for the company as long as this man remains in office. Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June. I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, ‘I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more.”

Foley’s decision follows social media posts from Donald Trump mocking the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele.

Trump wrote that Reiner’s death was caused by “the anger he caused others through his… incurable affliction with a… disease known as ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’”

Reports state that Nick Reiner was responsible for the deaths of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner.

Mick Foley received praise from his fans and former colleagues for his decision. What do you think about this?

Donald Trump Says Pregnant Women’s Use Of Tylenol Leads To Autism In Babies

Donald Trump has made a new claim about Tylenol and said that pregnant women should not use it because it causes autism in babies.

During a recent press conference, Trump spoke on this “new fact” without presenting any evidence; however, he did make a reference to Cuba and said that the country “does not have autism because Tylenol is not used there.”

After Trump’s claims, medical professionals have said that there’s no conclusive study that proves that Tylenol, also known as acetaminophen, can cause autism. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an advisement for pregnant women to consult with their healthcare providers before taking any form of medication.

Many people on social media poked fun at Trump for mispronouncing acetaminophen.
