Summer Read Alert: A Poetic Word By Orayne Williams

The moment that everyone has been waiting for is finally here!
Newly-minted author, Orayne Williams has released his new book, “A Poetic Word.”

Williams’ new book is a collection of poems that will take readers on a journey of getting to know the man behind the pen.

“I have been writing poems since I was a child growing up in Kingston, Jamaica. I remember being 12 years old reading the Book of Psalms and loved it because of how poetic it sounds,” Williams said.

He continued, “For a long time, my poems would be about my pain and the pain I observed in the world. Writing poems has always been an outlet for me, especially as a teen faced with homelessness and separation from my family. Poetry kept me sane. I enjoy writing, it gives me a sense of peace that I want to share.”

A Poetic Word is available on Amazon. Make sure that you get your copy now.

Before his untimely and tragic death in 1996, Tupac dreamed of opening a restaurant and 21 years later it’s finally coming true. The restaurant, Powamekka Café, will come to NYC for this weekend only. From April 7th-9th, you can enjoy some of the late rappers favorite food which included gumbo, meatloaf, fried chicken wings made by his cousin, Jamala. According to Tupac’s estate, guests who visits the pop-up restaurant during the three day weekend will see a lot of memorabilia of the Rapper such as pictures of his childhood, poems written by him, his classic music and more. The restaurant took over the exact same spot where Sweet Chick used to be at in the Lower East Side. Powamekka’s Café will be at 178 Ludlow Street. Stop by, enjoy the food and celebrate and remember the life of Tupac Shakur.
