But now that happy feeling for the show is long gone. The feeling now is the satisfaction of seeing it go.On Tuesday, ABC announced that they will be canceling the revival show due to Barr’s racial Twitter rant about former President Barack Obama’s top advisor Valerie Jarrett. One of the tweets about Jarrett was “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” Another tweet said, “ISLAM is not a RACE, lefties. Islam includes EVERY RACE of people.”Barr tried to redeem herself by passing the comments off as a “bad joke”. She eventually apologizes for her tweets on Twitter saying,”I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,” she continued. “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me – my joke was in bad taste.”Barr also stated that she was leaving Twitter, but that wasn’t enough. A few hours later, ABC announced that they were canceling the show. ABC’s entertainment president, Channing Dungey said in a statement, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”Racism will NEVER Prevail.
