  • New Edition Receives Long Overdue Award!

The R&B Group finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and just before the premiere of their three-night biopic airing on BET on January 24th, 2017 at 9 pm.New Edition got their start in Boston, and had quite a few chart-topping hits such as “Candy Girl”, “Cool it Now”, “Mr. Telephone Man”, If It Isn’t Love”, “Count me Out”, “Can You Stand The Rain”, and list goes on and on. This group has been in the music business for more than three decades and has had a successful career together and as solo acts, winning multiple awards, and selling multi-platinum albums.As soon as the news broke about this award fans took to social media to express their excitement and some had the chance of witnessing Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, Ralph and Johnny finally cemented their legacy by receiving this award.   • Chuck Berry Announces Comeback Album at Age 90. 

    Chuck Berry, the original King of Rock and Roll, has paved the way for many Rock and Roll Hall of famers during his career. Now at the age of 90, the Rock and Roll Hall of famer himself, has announced that he will be releasing his first album in 38 years in 2017 this past Tuesday on his birthday. The album, Chuck, will be compiled of all new songs. For Berry, this album is a special one.Not only will it have all new songs, it features his son Charles Berry Jr playing guitar and daughter Ingrid Berry playing the harmonica and musicians who have played with him Fourth years. This album is also a dedication to his wife of 68 years, Toddy (as he calls her). As stated on his website, Berry speaks on why he decided to release this album in 2017, “My darling, I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes”. During the span of his career, Berry has been the epitome of ending racial segregation with his music in the Rock and Roll world, has left a mark in the industry that many have been influenced by over the years. More details on the release of this highly anticipated will come at a later date. 

  • Tupac Nominated to be Inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2017

Although his career was tragically cut short back in 1996, he left behind a legacy for many to enjoy.  In leaving such  grand legacy, the artist could be headed into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2017.  If Shakur is nominated to be in this class he will be the sixth hip-hop artist to enter and will be along RUN-DMC, The Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash, Public Enemy and of course N.W.A. To be considered for a nomination slot, the artist would have to met their 25 year mark of their first album or single and for Tupac, 2Pacalypse Now is that album, which will hit that mark next month. This album was the start of the journey that Tupac had embarked on to educate his fans through his music.
