    Jay- Z continues to grow his net worth!

    Just one week after it was announced that the mogul sold half of Armand de Brignac to LVMH, he has now sold majority ownership of TIDAL to Jack Dorsey’s Square.

    As The Source reports, Square is slated to pay a mix of money and stock in the amount of $297 million, as the other shareholders, the artists, will remain the same. Jay- Z has also acquired a seat at the table. He will now be apart of Square’s Board of Directors.

    Jay took to Twitter to speak on the massive sell. “I said from the beginning that TIDAL was about more than just streaming music, and six years later, it has remained a platform that supports artists at every point in their careers.”

    He continued, “Artists deserve better tools to assist them in their creative journey. Jack and I have had many discussions about TIDAL’s endless possibilities that have made me even more inspired about its future. This shared vision makes me even more excited to join the Square board. This partnership will be a game-changer for many. I look forward to all this new chapter has to offer!”

    Brooklyn stand up! Jay-Z has made history and becomes hip-hop’s first billionaire.

    Jay-z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has become hip-hop’s first ever Billionaire. According to Forbes, Jay-Z is worth $1 billion. Jay’s climb to the top stemmed from the many businesses that he owns.

    These businesses include stakes in art, real estate, in liquor and even in Uber. It also comes from the various businesses that he owns including Rocawear, which he ultimately sold for more than $200 million in 2007 to Iconic.

    The publication also went on to explain how Jay-Z accomplish this HUGE goal. See the list of his investments below.

    Jay-Z ‘s ‘The BluePrint’ To Be Added To The Library Of Congress

    In 2001, Jay-Z release the classic album The BluePrint, and 18 years later the album will now be entered into the Library of Congress.

    The announcement was made on Wednesday March 20th that the Library has picked 25 recordings to be entered into its Registry. The Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden explained why those 25 songs were chosen this year.

    “The National Recording Registry honors the music that enriched our souls, the voices that tell our stories, and the sounds that mirror our lives.”The other audio clips that were chosen include songs by Earth, Wind & Fire, music from the Super Fly movie and the announcement of Dr. King’s death given by Robert F. Kennedy. Congrats Jay!
