Breaking News: Gervonta Davis vs. Jake Paul Nov. 14 Fight Canceled

The match that was four years in the making has been canceled.

Most Valuable Promotions announced that the exhibition match scheduled for Nov. 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, between Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Jake Paul, will no longer happen.

ESPN reports the decision comes days after Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, hit him with a civil lawsuit. She accused him of battery, false imprisonment, aggravated battery, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, stated, “Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly.”

He continued, “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized.”

The Paul/Davis match was to headline the night on Netflix. Fans were expecting to see this match because of the significant height and weight disparity between the two boxers. Davis is 135 pounds, while Paul stands at 200 pounds and is much taller than Davis.

This lawsuit is the latest in a long list of legal troubles for Davis. It comes after the domestic violence case against him, filed by the mother of his two children, was dropped. He has other issues with the law, including charges of domestic violence, fleeing the scene of an accident, and more.

He was later sentenced to house arrest and three years’ probation for a 2023 hit-and-run case in Baltimore.

Most Valuable Promotions reportedly began to look for a replacement for Davis to keep the main event going. Francis Ngannou, former UFC heavyweight champion, said that he was contacted by Paul’s team but declined the offer. The promotion company also reached out to Andre Ward, Nate Diaz, and Ryan Garcia.

The fans who purchased tickets will be refunded by Ticketmaster.
