It took the jury three days to finally come to a verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial.
The disgraced media mogul was found guilty on two out of five counts in his federal trial. The two counts he was found guilty of were violations of the Mann Act, the transportation for prostitution of his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and a woman who was only identified as “Jane.”
Each count carries a maximum of ten years in jail. He was not found guilty of the bigger charges, including racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, which could have landed Diddy in prison for life.
Diddy’s trial had been going on for nearly two months after he had been held in Brooklyn Detention Center for nearly a year. The jury’s verdict came after the judge instructed the jury to keep deliberating until they came to a verdict for all five counts. At the time, they only had a verdict for four out of the five counts.
Diddy’s defense attorney has asked the judge to release his client until his sentencing. If he’s sentenced, Diddy could face up to 20 years in prison. Cassie Ventura’s lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, broke his silence after Diddy’s verdict was revealed. “This entire criminal process started when our client, Cassie Ventura, had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023.”
