When you hear the name Scott Morris, a few words come to mind; innovative, talented, courageous, leadership, etc. the list goes on and on but the best word to describe him would be humble. Since his freshman year of college, Morris has had a vision of helping others in a way that would matter to the world. He came up with the idea of showcasing the talent of performers in the underground world, becoming an inspiration to the youth not only in his neighborhood but to youth across the country. Once his mind was set, Morris has created the now successful No Boys Allowed and the Dean’s List Tour, which have reach a peak of success that speaks volumes but that hasn’t stopped him from doing more. This past Spring Break was anything but a break for the legend in the making. Scott Morris and his team decided to focus their attention on the children of tomorrow, high school students. In doing so, a special 5 day event entitled Daze 5 Day Spring Break Summit was born.Daze is a fund raising event, where friends, family and supporters donated to help Morris create a scholarship program where a lucky high school student will have help getting through college. Morris was able to raised close to the of $1000 and is still collecting donations until that goal is met. From April 27th to May 1st, this Summit was held in different venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn and it consisted of a Hip Hop Showcase, two panel discussions , a paint and poetry session and an epic to celebrate this special occasion. Each event had supporters from all walks of life from the entertainment and music industry. On the last night of the summit it was where Morris paid homage to one of his inspirations and role models in this business, the legendary DWI, by thanking him for paving the way for young people of today and presented him with an award. This was also the last panel discussion/ networking event where the panelist explained to the audience how they started in this business and what keeps them motivated. The panelist consisted of Publicist Priya Williams, Entertainment Pioneer DWI, Founder of Paint and Poetry Mojo Disco, Radio Correspondent and Businessman Chad Law, Blogger, Journalist and Media Strategist Jason Borne and Motivational Speaker/ Business Owner Donna Marie. Each of these panelist moved the room during the Q&A segment and pushed the envelope on becoming better at your craft. For those you missed out on this amazing event, don’t worry it’s will be back year, bigger and better. Stay tuned for updates.
Album Review: Drake’s Views
So it finally happened, last Thursday Drake gave fans exactly what they were waiting for, his fourth studio album, Views and fans have been playing it for days straight. Since the surprise release exclusively on Apple Music, the 20 track album has sold over 600 thousand copies in its first night. Talk about support!Like his other albums, Drake has stepped outside box and presented a different sound on this album. From the start to finish, each song has a different vibe for the current mood that you are in. Serious, party, fun, you name it, it’s there. He also pays homage to DMX on the song U With Me? As well as dabbling in the world of Reggae/Dancehall music on many of his tracks by using the dialect and collaborating with artists from the country of Jamaica. But there are some questions that a lot of fans would like the answers to.Before releasing the album, Drake released two singles Pop Style, featuring Kanye West and Jay Z and Controlla featuring Jamaican Superstar Popcaan, so what happened to those versions being in the album? It was a big shock that fans didn’t appreciate, and those opinions were expressed on many social media outlets such as Snapchat, twitter, and instagram.Hopefully, the 6 God will have answers for fans soon. Here are a few of my favorite songs from the album thus far, Too Good featuring Rihanna, Redemption, and Grammys featuring Future. This album also comes with a surprise collaboration with the late great Pimp C. If you haven’t listened to the album yet, you clearly need too.

Album Review: Dawn Richard, Blackheart
Dawn Richard has done it again. The powerful songstress, formerly from Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money, released her second album “BlackHeart” on January 15th and it immediately went to number 1 on iTunes and here’s why. On this album, Richard experimented with a lot of different electro-techno sounds that makes the music and lyrical content mesh well together. On this album, you will get a very raw, dark, and vulnerable side of her, something that hasn’t been displayed on her previous projects. In an intimate music session with her fans, Dawn explained the reasoning behind naming the second installment to her trilogy BlackHeart. It is a reflection of darkness that she was going through at that time, when her father was diagnosed with lymphoma and the passing of her grandmother, but Dawn turned her tragedy into a story for everyone to listen to.~Krissi💋💋~Krissi 💋💋
Album Review: Teyana Taylor’s VII
Ever wonder what happened to that good R&B music that speaks to your soul? The kind of music that makes you feel good, and wondered when it would come back? Well this past Tuesday, it made a comeback when Teyana Taylor’s album “VII” was released. On this album, you will hear the likes of Brandy, Lauryn Hill, Sade, and Mary J. Blige fused into one melodic tone which is Teyana Taylor. Her solo tracks as well as her collaborations with various artists gives that extra uniqueness that music is missing these days. Her first single off of VII, Maybe featuring Yo Gotti and Pusha T is climbing the music charts and the video to it as well is amazing. Each song on this album is something that listeners can relate to. VII is one of the best albums that true R&B fans were longing for. Teyana Taylor has definitely set a high standard with this album. Be on the lookout for her next single Do Not Disturb featuring Chris Brown.~Krissi 💋💋
Sam Smith: Legend in the making
In a recent post, I shared a video of Sam Smith’s acoustic performance of “Latch” by Disclosure, and I expressed hiw talented and soulful he is, but that is only scratching the surface when it comes to this artist. Not too long ago, Smith released his first album ” In the Lonely Hour”, and it is been nonstop for him from there. In listening to his album, the melodies, and the lyrics you can here a little bit of Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross , the legends or blues and soul.Sam Smith is a rare individual, he embodies everything that the artists before him worked years to get noticed for. In listening to every song on this album, I feel like he is speaking exactly how I feel, whether it’s going through a breakup and knowing your going to be okay, like in his song “Restart”, or knowing that the person you love, doesn’t love you the same or is loving someone else, as he sings in ” I’m not the only one”. But the song that speaks to me the most is his first single “Stay with me” which explains how you can be in a relationship with someone, but you know that it’s not going to work but you still want that sense of comfort from that person. The key thing about this album is that anybody who listens to it can definitely relate to it. Sam Smith is a soulful legend in the making and I hope to hear more greatness from him in the future.
