You never know how musically talented a musician is until you actually see them perform live. Recently I went to two concerts the first concert was Janelle Monae’s in Prospect Park and the second one was Paramore’s on Good Morning America and at the end of both of their performances the only word I could utter at that moment was “Wow”. I have been to concerts where the energy was good, audience was loving the vibe, but that wow factor wasn’t there for me, but when it comes to these two powerful females I must explain my experience.Janelle Monae’s concert was something I went to because I knew my friend would enjoy it, but when we arrived at the venue, I was not expecting to see a massive crowd of people, feel a great deal of positive energy, and see a great show. I’ve always watched her performances on tv and I never really thought anything of it but she changed my perspective of her after that night. Her delivery to the audience was incredible, something that I have never experienced at any other concert before. She made herself comfortable with us, as we did with her. The amount of energy that was displayed throughout her entire performance was nothing short, she kept us engaged and on our toes. After that night I learned my lesson to never underestimates talent.The Paramore concert was different in a way. I know that Paramore has a huge fan base and that they are a very talented band but that day the crowd wasn’t as big as i thought it would’ve have been, maybe it was the rain, but that didn’t stop them from putting on an incredible show for the amount of people that were there. This concert was another one that after I left I was just like wow.Both of these performers, in my book are powerhouses for the underdogs. These women have truly amazing voices that aren’t displayed properly to the world. I know that there are people who will disagree with me about this but I believe in what I believe in and I believe in the raw and rare talent of these two performers. I would go see them in a heartbeat and I know I wouldn’t leave disappointed. It will just be another Wow moment.

Musically passionate
You would never know what kind of impact music can have on your life until you experience it first hand. It kills me to talk to people about music who believes that their passion about music is greater than thou just to find out that the artist or the type of music that they claim to love, has never showed not an ounce of support to what that artist present to their fans. Whether it may be buying their single, or cd, downloading the music or attending a small show or a large concert where that artist is headlining. It makes me question how passionate someone really is about music as they claim to be. There is no way you can be passionate about something if you never showed no kind of support at least once. The passion for music that you have would come from your first musical experience. My first musical experience was watching Michael Jackson videos on the television with my father. I knew from the very first moment that I saw him dancing and heard him singing and harominzing perfectly with the beat and melodies of the music, that I wanted to become involved in music one way or another. He was and still is my inspiration, and the reason on why I am so passionated about music.Michael is the reason why I love listening to other genres of music and different kinds of artists. There is so much talent, passion and drive that stems from other genres of music but most of you will never know about it because you never opened your mind to explore it. When I hear a new song from an artist the first thing I do is listen to voice just like everyone else, but unlike others who just hears a nice voice I actually listen to the words of that song, whether it is upbeat or a ballad. The words tells us a story and most of the time music fans won’t know what that message is in that specific song because they are pleased with the fact that their favorite artist just released a new song.I listen for the craft.This is what intrigues me when it comes to listening to artists like Kendrick Lamar, Emeli Sande, Adele, Sam Smith, Hope, Paramore, Janelle Monae, every one of these artists have the craft that is overlooked by many. If you was to listen to each of their songs and actually peel back the layers in the lyrics you will realize that that craft is very unique and very rare to find in a lot of artists in today’s music industry. That’s why I am so passionate about music because I don’t view it as another hit song on the radio I view it as a unique craft that can compel many if they showed the support as fans.I AM MUSICALLY PASSIONATE.I will now on speak my mind about all things music. Cherishing my history
As a child, growing up in a specific household I was taught do live by certain rules and principles. As I grew up, I started to look at things from a different perspective. I am the type of person, who doesn’t see color, and I accept everyone for who they are and where they come from, so it pisses me off that we have come so far just to be pushed over 60 years back. That comment made by the owner of the L.A. Clippers was very hurtful and shocking to think that we still have people out there who look down not only on African Americans, but all minorities. That comment, just makes me question what was the point of fighting for Blacks and other minority groups fighting for their freedom if the ignorance of other still lingers around us?
As long as I can remember I always questioned what makes the “white man” better than those who’s skin is darker, who’s hair is nappier, who’s physical features are more curvy than most. We can’t say it was the money, because without the capturing of Africans, the Europeans wouldn’t have made a profit. So what is it really that makes them so-called better than us? Can someone really answer this question for me, or even for themselves? Here is my answer:
My answer is nothing makes them better than us. At the end of the day, and when each and everyone of our time is up, we as human beings and as a people have to answer to one person and that is God himself. We were created as equals, to be treated as equals, to be respected as equals. The fight that our ancestors, as well as the leaders of the past had endured for us to finally have our freedom is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life and that is something that nobody can take from us as people.
