Today marks one year since the tragic death of George Floyd.
Floyd was killed by former police officer Derek Chauvin after holding his kneeling on Floyd’s neck for over eight minutes.
The state of Minneapolis and the family of George Floyd received Justice when Chauvin was found guilty of all charges. However, this victory wouldn’t last long.
As the residents gather to remember Floyd, it has been reported that one person has been shot after a dozen of rounds have been fired in the area that was named after him, George Floyd Square.
HotNewHipHop reports that a live news report was on the scene and captured people running for cover as the shots rang out. The shots occurred during the moment of silence for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, the duration that Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck.
As of now, there have been no reports of another person getting shot. Stay tuned for updates.
