Once again, the Black community is coming together to uplift and represent in a major way and that’s because of We Build Black.
We Build Black is an organization that is dedicated to helping the Black community achieve economic success through careers in technology. In doing so, they have put together their newest initiative; The Mavens I/O Tech Conference.
This conference was put together to spotlight the Black women who have been severely underrepresented in the Tech world for years. Statistics shows that 48% of women have been discriminated when it comes to applying for STEM jobs.
The founders of We Build Black wants to change this narrative by connecting women of all disciplines.
“The goal of our conference is to create a safe solace for women to inspire each other, grow their talents, and connects them to opportunities,” founder Devin stated.
During the week-long conference, contestants will be able to show off their ideas by completing a small project that will fall under the criteria of uniqueness, impact, and feasibility.
Mavens I/O Tech Conference For Women Of Color will be held virtually from August 23rd-29th. You can register for this event right now. Don’t miss out!
