The comedy world has lost a legend in Paul Mooney. The actor, writer, and comic has passed away at the age of 79. Mooney’s rep Cassandra Williams confirmed his death with The Hollywood Reporter.
Mooney passed away in his home in Oakland, California at 5:30 am. from an apparent heart attack. A tweet was sent out from his account thanks to all of his fans for their support for all of the years.

Mooney’s accolades include being a writer for Richard Pryor and for reintroducing himself to a new set of fans with his many appearances on The Chappelle Show. While on the show, he is best remembered for his skit, “Ask a Black Dude.” Watch the segment below.
