With the Coronavirus becoming more and more serious, government officials are doing everything in their power to make sure that everyone remains safe.

It has recently been announced by Mayor Bill de Blasio that alternate side parking rules will be suspended starting on Wednesday, March 18th to Tuesday, March 24th.

“This is for one week, for seven days. this will give us an opportunity to evaluate the impact and see if its something we want to do on a longer-term basis. “

The city will re-evaluate the decision after the first week is over. They are also considering how the sanitation department will be able to clean the streets.

de Blasio also said, “Doing it for a week to see how it goes makes all the sense in the world. Doing it throughout a crisis that could easily reach months upon months is a bigger question mark. There is a real connection between clean streets, clean neighborhoods, and overall health care.”

Aside from parking being suspended, government officials have also put in place a curfew for New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania for 8 pm.
