Motorcycles backfiring while passing through sounded like gun shots.”The NYPD also tweeted that they have received dozen of phone calls about the mistaken gun shots and urged callers not to panic saying that Times Square is a safe place.This scare comes a few days after the two mass shootings that happened in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas killing 31 people.
