All Charges Against Jussie Smollett Have Been Dropped + Police Superintendent Reacts to the News

Earlier today it was reported that all charges against “Empire” star Jussie Smollett have been dropped.

In mid-January, Smollett claimed that he was attacked by two white men wearing MAGA Hats, who spewed racial and homophobic slurs at him. In a surprising court hearinf held today in Chicago, the 36-year-old’s attorneys made the announcement in a statement. “Today, all criminal charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped and his record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him”. On March 16, Smollett was charged with 16 felony accounts of disorderly conduct in which he was accused of lying on the police.

Chicago’s Police Superintendent, Eddie Johnson was reportedly ‘furious’ that the charges were dropped. Johnson also stated that he found out about the charges dropping while at an academy graduation. Johnson believed that the evidence against Smollett were ‘rock solid’
