Glee’s Final Farewell

Glee tells their fellow Gleeks (Glee fans) goodbye.

On March 20th,2015 the show aired its emotional two hour series finale which reminded fans on how and why they fell in love with the show. The hit television series was first introduced to viewers in 2009 which was based around giving the outcast students in McKinley high school a voice. The Glee Club was created by the then Spanish teacher Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and its founding members Artie Abrams (Kevin Mchale), Tina Cohen- Chang (Jenna Ushkowitz), Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley), Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer), Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith). During the first hour of the show, viewers took a trip down memory lane to the pilot episode where all they had a chance to see how the glee club began. There was a sense of sadness knowing that the Finn Hudson character wouldn’t be there to be a part of this glorious moment due to the untimely death of Cory Monteith back in 2013. There were moments in the show where the glee members did talk about Finn’s character about keeping him in the glee club. The last scene featured Finn Hudson and the rest of the New Directions performing the Journey hit “Don’t Stop Believing”. Fast forward to the present day 2015, where the alumni and the current students share a special farewell moment. Mr. Schuester serenading all of his students with  a sweet song as a thank you. From one farewell to another farewell, the show ended in 2020,showing the success of the original New Direction members.Tina and Artie were dating again, Mercedes just came back from her world tour, Rachel was married, the surrogate for Kurt and Blaine’s (Darren Criss) baby, and a Tony award winner and Kurt and Blaine were successful Broadway stars. Glee also featured one of its prominent stars Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) as the Vice President of The United States of America dedicating the McKinley High School auditorium to the fallen Finn Hudson. In the very last scene, the cast performed One Republic’s hit “I Lived” and all the every member of the New Directions made their appearance.
